ESA is Europe's gateway to space. Its mission is to shape the development of Europe's space capacity and to ensure that investments in space continue to benefit the citizens of Europe and the world. The exploration of SPACE is a collective journey. This is why 22 European countries are pooling their resources, putting Europe at the forefront of science, technology and space applications. The purpose of ESA is to ensure and promote, for exclusively peaceful purposes, cooperation between European States in the field of space research and technologies and their space applications, with a view to their use for scientific and for operational space application systems.
