UATV, also known as Universidad Autónoma de Chile Televisión, is a Chilean television channel based in Temuco, the capital of the La Araucanía Region in southern Chile. The channel was founded on December 16, 2001, originally under the name Canal 2 Temuco, with the goal of providing educational, cultural, and regional content to the local community. Through its free-to-air signal, UATV reaches a large part of the Araucanía Region via signal 2, and it is also available on channel 11 on VTR cable in Temuco. Beyond its regional coverage, the channel has expanded its distribution through cable networks. It can be viewed from Concepción to Coyhaique on signal 34 via Telefónica del Sur, and in the Metropolitan Region it is also available on signal 34 through GTD Manquehue, significantly increasing its audience reach. UATV’s programming includes news, educational programs, cultural content, interviews, and coverage of regional events, with a strong emphasis on local identity and community values. Adapting to modern viewing habits, the channel also offers digital access, allowing audiences to stay connected and, when available, watch live tv stream content from multiple devices across Chile.
