CNN Türk is a Turkish news channel, launched on October 11, 1999 as a localized variant of the American channel CNN. It broadcasts exclusively for Turkey and is owned by the WarnerMedia News & Sports and Demirören group. Its headquarters are in Istanbul. For the first time, the channel started broadcasting on the terrestrial frequency of Eko TV, a subsidiary of Doğan Broadcasting Group. At the beginning of its broadcast, the channel only presented programs translated from English into Turkish. In 2005 and 2008, the channel bought the broadcasting rights to Formula 1 and broadcast these races. CNN Türk, which had left its terrestrial frequency to DTT since 2008, has since bought the terrestrial frequency of the TV5 channel and has thus resumed broadcasting via roof antennas. In 2010, it started showing the CNN televisions logo in the lower right corner. On 17.09.2012 the broadcast format was changed to 16:9. Today, the channel broadcasts on 2 different broadcasts, namely CNN Türk News Center and Kanal D News Center. Currently, CNN Türk continues its terrestrial broadcasts only in a few cities. In addition, the channel is broadcast on Filbox, TeleWorld, KabloTv, D-Smart and Digiturk.
