RTL Télé Lëtzebuerg is Luxembourg's main television channel broadcasting in Luxembourgish. It is part of the RTL group.
Today, RTL Télé Lëtzebuerg broadcasts entertainment, magazines and news in Luxembourgish. Outside broadcast hours, a live camera from the radio studio is broadcast, along with text information and traffic cameras. RTL Shop programs in French and sometimes in German are broadcast a few hours a day, most often in the morning.
For a few years, the station's only competitor was Tango TV, operated by Tele2 from 2002 to 2007. Its main competitors in 2012 are Eldo TV and Den Oppener Kanal (.dok). All other television channels in Luxembourg only broadcast locally. RTL also has a second channel, RTL Zwee, with mainly reruns and live sports programmes.
Viewers in Luxembourg can also tune into RTL 4 (channel 41), RTL 5, RTL 7 and RTL 8 which are for the Dutch market. Since all these stations have television licenses in Luxembourg, they are available as terrestrial channels. Like television channels in the Netherlands, they show all foreign programs in their original language with subtitles, not dubbed.
Following the transition to digital terrestrial television, which was implemented overnight on September 1, 2006, RTL Télé Lëtzebuerg and den 2ten RTL share channel 27, M6 on channel 7, and RTL TVI, Club RTL, Plug TV and the three Dutch channels on channel. 24.
