Sachsen Fernsehen is a private regional television program from Chemnitz.
Initially, this regional station began on October 4, 1993, with the half-hour program "Lokal TV Chemnitz," later "Drehscheibe Chemnitz," which was a weekday regional window interrupting VOX's analog broadcast on terrestrial channel 45 from 5:30 to 6:00 p.m.. It was repeated from 6:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., also on weekdays, on channel 47, on which RTL's program was broadcast.
Sachsen Fernsehen was one of the last television stations to broadcast in analog terrestrial mode on UHF channel 47 in Chemnitz until the end of 2012, after which terrestrial broadcasting was discontinued without replacement. Currently, Chemnitz Fernsehen is fed and transmitted digitally in the cable networks of Pÿur, Kabel Deutschland, and various smaller cable networks. Thus, the program can be received in part as far as Dresden, Leipzig and Plauen.
The regional television network Sachsen Fernsehen (Chemnitz, Dresden, Leipzig) has been broadcasting daily windows with 9Live programming since January 1, 2007. However, 9Live ceased broadcasting on August 9, 2011.
