Al Jazeera Mubasher Al-'Amma is the first channel of its kind in the Arab world and is similar to the US channel C-SPAN and the UK channel BBC Parliament. The channel also has a live stream of its broadcast on its website.
In 2014, the channel underwent a graphics update as part of Al Jazeera Media Networks' company-wide graphics update.
The new Al Jazeera Mubasher Al-'Amma reports live events from around the world simultaneously with 24/7 analysis. The main purpose of the channel is to ensure interaction between viewers and the unfolding of events. The results are largely based on viewer suggestions rather than the traditional fixed grid scheme.
