Gyöngyösi Városi Televízió (Gyöngyösi VTV) is a regional television channel available in Gyöngyös and its surroundings. The television is operated by the Gyöngyösi Médiaközpont Nonprofit Kft. In 1993, the Municipality of Gyöngyös decided to establish a Municipal Television, whose mission is to provide a platform for the fulfilment of the municipality's duty to inform, to broaden the forum system of democracy, and to present the cultural values of the town and its surrounding area. The news programme, which has been in existence since 1994, used to be broadcast every two days, but since 1999 it has been broadcast every day, five days a week. In addition to daily economic, religious and sporting events, the news programme covers issues of concern to the population of the region and reports on news from the civil sector and political parties.
