ČT24 is a 24-hour news channel in Czech, owned and operated by Czech Television. The channel was launched on 2 May 2005.
ČT24 broadcasts from Prague, Czech Republic, where their headquarters is, but ČT24 also has branches and broadcasts from Brno and Ostrava. CT24 broadcasts continuously, 24 hours a day. All programmes are broadcast in high definition. The programmes Studio 6, Interview ČT24, 90' ČT24, Events, Commentaries, Goals, Points, Seconds and Horizont ČT24 are broadcast in Studio 6 at Kavčí Hory, the main news programme Events and the programme ČT art Events in Culture are broadcast from virtual Studio 8, and the morning and afternoon news programmes are broadcast from Studio 9.
The programme began broadcasting news on 2 May 2005 at 1 pm via the Internet on the Ct24.cz website and also by digital transmission simultaneously via Astra 1 and 3A satellites and Eurobird1.
From 21 October 2005 it broadcast in regular digital terrestrial broadcasting in DVB-T standard in the transitional multiplex A, and from 31 October 2008 in regular multiplex 1. Since 2019, it has been broadcasting in DVB-T2 standard in multiplex 21.
