Radiotelevisión del Principado de Asturias (RTPA) is a public broadcasting company in Asturias, founded in 2005. Since 2011 its general manager is Antonio Virgili.
Televisión del Principado de Asturias made its first test broadcast on December 20, 2005 at 21:00. On January 7, 2006, TPA broadcast its first sports coverage featuring a football match between Sporting de Gijón and Racing de Ferrol, although the match was provided by Televisión de Galicia. In the first few months, all weekend games from Sporting de Gijón, Marino de Luanco and Real Oviedo were broadcast.
On June 6, 2006, TPA began regular broadcasts with newscasts. In September of that year, RTPA began radio service testing and broadcasts over satellite via Hispasat.
The Radio del Principado de Asturias began broadcasting regularly on December 21, 2007.
