Television of Slavonia and Baranja or Slavonian Television (STV) began broadcasting on October 7, 1992. as the third local television station in Croatia. The creation of a free and democratic state also brought to life the need for freedom of expression and information, necessary for the progress of a democratic society and the development of every human being, and as television, as the queen of the media, has a major role in the process of mass communication, the pioneering period for the establishment and operation of local commercial television stations in Croatia.Every beginning is difficult, but Slavonians got their own television, and in an environment that supported action, showed understanding for mistakes and rejoiced at successes, childbirth problems were easier to solve, so the television already produced 20 hours of its own program a week in the first year of its life. broadcasting satellite foreign program contents along with it. In the following years, television grew, experienced and survived children's illnesses and developed in accordance with the development of telecommunications, the legal framework for the operation of electronic media in Croatia and the environment in which it lives and works, wanting to be a good neighbor and friend to the inhabitants of Slavonia and Baranja through its activities. creating program content that meets the needs and wishes of its viewers and the requirements of the modern communication age.STV has been operating in the Osijek-Baranja County for years, and together with other local television stations, it has been active on the national airwaves by creating and operating the Mreža and CCN projects. Today, the program of Slavonian Television covers Osijek-Baranja, Vukovar-Srijem and part of Brod-Posavina County with a digital signal, it is also offered by the most important cable televisions, and is also globally available via live streaming on television websites.
