Welt (N24) is a free-to-air German television news channel owned by WeltN24 GmbH. It also provides regular news updates on ProSiebenSat.1 Media owners such as ProSieben and kabel eins.
On September 21, 2017, WorldN24 announced that N24 would be rebranded to "World" on January 18, 2018. WeltN24 also publishes Die Welt, a conservative-oriented newspaper.
World previously aired a variety of programs with more than seven hours of live programming per weekday. CNBC correspondents Silvia Wadhwa, Patricia Szarvas, Roland Klaus, Michael Mross and Bruni Schubert will be reporting live throughout the day from the Frankfurt Stock Exchange, the LSE and the NYSE. Since August 2010, the news program has been reduced, with no program longer than 15 minutes.
Mondays through Fridays from 1:05 p.m., and on weekends and holidays also in the mornings, documentaries and reports on historical, technical and popular science topics are often shown in German premiere broadcasts. The documentaries and reports provide insights into the areas of nature, culture, science and technology. Examples of regularly broadcast documentary and docutainment series include Auf Leben und Tod, Lost Places, Mayday - Alarm im Cockpit and Science of Stupid with Jochen Schropp and Richard Hammond.
