L1 is a public regional radio and television station in the Dutch province of Limburg. On L1 mainly Limburg and Dutch is spoken.The media supply policy is determined in accordance with the Media Act by the Media Council of the Limburg Broadcasting Foundation, which owns the broadcasting license used by L1. The Stichting Omroep Limburg (Limburg Broadcasting Foundation) has commissioned Omroepbedrijven L1 to take care of the production, realization and broadcasting of the programs. Initially, De Limburger was a co-shareholder of the L1 companies, but in 2018 all shares came into the hands of Stichting Omroep Limburg.Stichting Omroep Limburg (SOL) has been designated as the public regional media institution in Limburg within the meaning of the Media Act 2016 and is therefore the holder of the broadcasting license.
