"Moldova 1" is a Moldovan public TV channel. It is part of the TRC "Teleradio-Moldova". It began broadcasting on 30 April 1958 at 19:00. Work to install the on-air broadcasting antenna began in September 1957 and was completed three months later. The Chisinau television tower is 196 meters high.
During the Soviet era, the Moldovan TV studio produced cycles of programs "Moldova Sovetica", "The Communist and Five-Year Plan", "The Food Program - a matter for everyone", "Health Objects - daily attention", "Our Knowledge - Force and Weapon", "In Labor - Beautiful Man"; youth cycles "Youth Wave", "To the Line", "Meeting the Profession"; children's programmes "Multlotto", "Traffic Light", "Stelutsa magazine visits us", and "The World through Children's Eyes"; and science-informative programmes "Modern Science", "Pedagogical Screen", "Tales of the Professions", and "Health"; literary and dramatic and musical programmes "Writer, Book, Reader", "Artist and Time", "Poetry", "In the World of Arts", "Miniature Theatre", "Masters of Stage", "Meeting with Music", "Musical Showcase".
